Glass follows the same element-coverage pattern as Blue Fire and Crystal. You do not need one specific pairing — you need the two elements present between your parents.

What follows from that:

• Order does not matter. Earth + Light is the same as Light + Earth.
• Coverage can be split. One parent can carry both, or each can carry one.
• Extra elements are fine. A hybrid carrying Earth, Light and something else still qualifies.
• The Rift variant works too. Earth paired with a Light Rift dragon is a valid route.

Key insight: Glass is a good example of a dragon that is trivially easy once a prerequisite is met. The combination is not the challenge. Getting Light into your park is. Treat this as a Light-element project rather than a Glass project and it makes far more sense.

Light is not a starter element. Unlike Fire, Plant, Earth and the other early primaries, Light sits further into the game and is not something a new park has access to.

That single fact explains why so many players find Glass confusing. The combination looks trivially simple — Earth + Light — so they assume they must be doing something wrong when it does not work. In reality they simply do not have Light available yet.

If you cannot find a Light Dragon in your breeding list, that is your actual project. Glass, and everything else in the Light branch, opens up once Light is unlocked and not before.

💎 Should You Buy It for 800 Gems?

Glass can be purchased outright for 800 gems. That is a substantial price — considerably more than Crystal at 100 gems, and roughly a third of what a Rainbow Dragon costs.

Buying makes sense if: you specifically want the dragon for display, you have gems to spare, and you have not yet unlocked Light. It is one of the few ways to own a Light-associated dragon without progressing the element first.

Breeding makes far more sense if: you already have Light unlocked. At that point the combination is simple and the incubation is only 12.5 hours, so paying 800 gems for something you can breed in half a day is poor value.

Our recommendation: do not buy it. 800 gems is better spent on limited event dragons that disappear when their window closes, or on expanding your park. Glass is not going anywhere, and once Light is unlocked it becomes one of the easier dragons in the game.

Both of Glass’s parent elements are on the Elder-eligible list. Light and Earth are two of the ten primary single-element dragons that can be levelled to 21 and become Elder Dragons.

That is worth factoring into your plans. If you are going to acquire and level a Light Dragon anyway, an Elder Light gives you doubled coin generation in an upgraded habitat, daily prize-pack envoys, and the best breeding odds in the game.

Glass itself cannot become an Elder — it is a hybrid, and only single-element primaries qualify. Level your Light and Earth Dragons if Elder status is the goal; level Glass only if you intend to breed with it.

What happens: Endless Earth pairings that cannot possibly work.
