What does not change your odds: the order of parents, which dragon you tap first, the time of day (except for time-locked dragons), or how many times you have failed already.

Some dragons have requirements beyond elements, and they are invisible until they block you.

Month gates. Gemstone dragons only appear in their own calendar month. Diamond is April, Ruby is July, Pearl is June, Sapphire is September, Aquamarine is March. Outside that month the chance is exactly zero.

Time-of-day gates. The Moon Dragon can only be bred between 7pm and 7am on your device’s clock. The Sun Dragon wants daylight. The Twilight Tower removes this restriction.

Location gates. Ghostly Spectre must be bred outside the Rift. Ghostly dragons generally need Ghostly parents.

Trait gates. In the Rift, some dragons require parents carrying specific traits, on top of the usual element rules.
